About the image

Manya’s Wedding was chosen for the 2017 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

I shot this on film, the print still contains the rebate which is a signature mark of a full framed unedited image. You can see the  bond between the mother and her children. Here there is a sense of belonging.
The images in this collection are about the quiet moments we are aware of at certain times in a crowded place. Easily missed and important parts of your story
They  are in between a moment that say a lot, not a resting point. For me they tell a truth and have a flow of intimacy.
In the frame before this one you could not see the little girls neck at all and for me this  is where her innocence shines through.
